Originally conceived as a temporary pilot project as part of the INTERREG Europe NIGHT LIGHT project, the nature park has had a permanently employed light consultant since 1 October 2019, whose task is to manage a neutral advice center at national level.

 

This is available to administrations, businesses and residents throughout the country and serves as a professional source of advice and support in matters relating to the prevention of light pollution and energy efficiency in lighting systems. The nature park aims to establish itself as a national competence center for lighting technology in the long term.

 

This includes initiating, coordinating, implementing, monitoring and documenting measures as well as providing advice, support, and supervision for private and public infrastructure projects, but also applying for funding and, last but not least, scientifically analyzing the brightest zones and the digital inventory of public street lighting.

 

The tasks also include the development of information material, training courses and active public relations work to raise awareness among the various target groups.
